Every large company faces the same problem when reporting season rolls around… “We need some Annual Report Photography”.
AUT was in the same situation so they called on Metro Headshots to tackle the complex task of shooting their Annual Report.
The problem with a institution as large as AUT is the scale of the project. The Annual Report Photography shoot covered 4 days, 3 campus and numerous departments that needed to be represented.
Starting with the South Auckland Campus, there was a need to capture the stunning new buildings and show off the art and landscaping that plays an important part of the environment. We recruited real students to represent the diversity of the University trying to capture them in a natural ‘unposed’ setting.
Next on the list was the new Health Science facilities. Purpose built, this new block is brand new and boasts the newest technology in dentistry, podiatry, and physiotherapy. Again, with the help of the students and teachers, the photos brought the facilities to life and showed off just how wonderful the place really is.
The City campus and North Campus has been well photographed over the years, we need to reshot them and reflect the facility improvements and bring some continuity to the photography styles.
AUT is more than just buildings. The students, teaching staff and administration play a vital role, and this need to be highlighted. Despite the tight time restrictions, we managed to cover all the requirements of the photo brief – plus a few informal headshots on the way.
The final results were well received. Both the design team, and comms team felt the Annual Report Photography was ajob was well done and we can put our feet up… until next year!
